Chapter 7 Summary

Before supper that night, Georgie has two other visitors, Robin and Mr. Collier. Georgie is excited to see both of them. Mr. Collier has brought Georgie some books to read. He tells Mr. Collier that he likes books with pictures inside. He also admits that he never learned how to read because no one ever offered him a book he found interesting. Georgie really likes the book that Mr. Collier has brought over for him to read. Georgie invites Robin to sit with him on his bed and puts his arm around Robin. The two settle in together while Mr Collier reads them the book, letting them look at all the pictures. After they have gone through the book, Georgie begins reading some of the passages by memorizing the words and sounds that Mr. Collier made.
