The Harness

The harness is a device that keeps Anemone connected to Coral. It symbolizes the amount of control Coral has over her daughter. On the surface, it seems possible that this is merely the action of an over-protective mother who wants to be sure she does not lose another daughter, but it is more about the level of control Coral exerts.

Queen

"Queen" is a term that symbolizes the respect for the rulers of each of the seven dragon tribes. It is significant in this novel because Blister does not refer to Coral with the titled “Queen Coral,” but Coral refers to Blister as “Queen Blister,” symbolizing the fact that their relationship is not even.
