Chapter 1: The Man that You Fear Summary and Analysis

Thirteen-year-old Brian [Manson] and his twelve-year-old cousin, Chad, would sneak down in their grandfather's eerie basement hideaway when the old man was away. They found pornography and photos showing acts of bestiality which both scared and fascinated them. One day they were almost caught snooping around in their grandfather's belongings. They were rooting around when they heard him ascend the stairs. They were able to hide and for ten tense minutes feared they would be caught but luckily their grandmother called their grandfather upstairs.
