Point of View

This novel is narrated from the first-person point of view of Cassie, the central character. She tells the story of her time spent undercover as Lexie from a point in time after the undercover operation is finished. There are a variety of quotes from this novel that show that Cassie is talking about an experience from the past as she talks about her time at Whitethorn House. For instance in the “Prologue,” she says: “Some nights, if I’m sleeping on my own, I still dream about Whitethorn House” (1). Cassie also shows that she is narrating from after the fact by the way she foreshadows what is coming for herself and Lexie’s housemates.
