Summary

In Chapter 19, the next morning, Daniel was waiting for Cassie in her room. When she opened the door, he asked her who she was. Cassie showed him the microphone and signaled him to be quiet. She left the microphone near the record player, playing Fauré’s Requiem, while she and Daniel went to the garden to talk.

Daniel first confirmed that Lexie was dead. He asked Cassie why she had taken off her microphone. She said she wanted to know what happened to Lexie, she thought Daniel might trust her more if she was not wearing the microphone. Daniel assured Cassie she had done well as Lexie.
