Summary

In the beginning of Chapter 55, Lucy describes how Darren wants Violet to grow up bilingual so the nanny, Maria, speaks to her in Spanish. Lucy says Violet learned more Spanish from watching Dora the Explorer. She is interested to see how Violet responds to different TV shows, and is delighted when her new show, Rocket Through Time transfixes her.

Lucy gets an email from Gabe saying he is in town for a day and would like to meet up. Darren seems surprised that she is still in touch with him and asks Lucy if she will take Violet with her to meet Gabe. Lucy asks if he does not trust her and he assures her that it is Gabe he does not trust, not her. Lucy agrees to take Violet along in order to reassure Darren.
