Summary

Chapter 11 fast forwards to February 1944, when high level Nazi Lieutenant-Colonel Adolf Eichmann visits Auschwitz-Birkenau. He is there to check up on the status of the experimental family camp and talk with Fredy Hirsch.

Later that afternoon, as Dita heads back to her parent's hut, she sees Mr. Tomášek, and decides that she wants to talk to him about Hirsch. She follows him, but he walks quickly and enters a hut before Dita is able to reach him. She wanders around the side and listens to the conversation. She recognizes the other voice in the room - it's the Priest, and he is colluding with Mr. Tomášek. He asks for names of the prisoners in the Resistance. Dita is hit with yet another pivotal realization, she has no one to trust. She thinks back to a conversation she had with Professor...
