Melitele’s temple

The start of each chapter follows Gerald’s recovery at Melitele’s temple. The temple symbolizes a place of safety and healing. Geralt goes to the temple after having his neck slashed by the striga, knowing that Nenneke is a great healer. In the temple he is safe from Prince Hereward and the Knights of the White Rose. The plants that Nenneke tends to are only able to survive in the temple, as the world outside is too harmful. Nenneke wants Geralt to stay at the temple longer, as she sees a dangerous future and knows she can not protect him once he leaves the temple.

Wyzim

Wyzim is the town Geralt visits to attempt to earn the 3000 oren reward he has seen posted. He is initially unwelcome, being seen as an outsider. He earns the respect of King Foltest, appearing to him to be trustworthy...
