Summary

In the second half of the chapter "Rock 'n' Roll Will Save Your Life," a strong storm descends on the island. As everyone goes to higher ground, Richard protects Ann. Later, Ann says that she has never been so hungry in her life. Richard responds by saying "food." When Dex expresses the wish to record what he is feeling, Ann shows them the web camera that records the beach in an effort to keep them from wanting to leave. Against Ann's wishes, they build a bonfire.

The group finds an angry Loren upon their return. The number of hits on the web cam's link has spiked, but that is not relevant. It is no longer pure. Loren later tells Ann that it was for his daughter Lilou. He had hoped that she had been...
