Summary

In The Last Good Paradise, by Tatjana Soli, Ann and Richard, an up-and-coming couple in Los Angeles, are chasing power and success. Ann is working toward being a high-profile lawyer, and Richard wants to be a famous chef.

The book opens with Ann winning an arbitration settlement on her birthday. Afterward, she goes into an office and stuffs herself with candy bars, even though she knows her husband would disapprove of it.
