Summary

At age 18, Haddish had to stop doing stand-up comedy to provide for herself. At age twenty-two, she restarted "because [she] had to stomp a bitch for disrespecting [her]" (133). Haddish was invited to a party by a woman she had been pimping out named Bertha. Haddish's ex-boyfriend and Bertha's current boyfriend Titus happened to be at the party, too. After a fun and drunken night, Haddish fell asleep on the couch. She was awoken by the sound of Titus and Bertha having sex on the floor right next to her, and immediately began kicking and stomping on Bertha in a fit of "for-real black woman craziness" (135). Two months after the incident, Titus showed up to Haddish's house and asked for her hand in marriage with a $38 ring from Kmart. The entire situation left her "disturbed emotionally" (136).
