Summary

While employed at Los Angeles International Airport at the ticket counter, a handicapped man named Roscoe was Haddish's baggage handler. Roscoe was down to earth, smart, and even funny, but he had a "tiny deformed little arm," and disfigurement in his face similar to that of a stroke victim (109). Haddish and Roscoe had fun together at work, but Roscoe was constantly pursuing her for more than just friendship. During and after her breakup with Titus, which left her "tired and burnt out," Roscoe reminded her daily that she was beautiful (113). He went from asking her out twice a week, to asking her out daily. Eventually, Haddish gave in.
