Summary

Chapter Thirteen

Alice catches up to Tom before he can run away from the farm. She convinces him that she wasn’t working with Mother Malkin. She had been searching for her when the witch tried to possess her, but Tom was able to interrupt it. She warns him that the rest of his family will be in danger and he will not be able to get to Gregory in time. Tom returns to the farm, determined to save his family. Mr. Snout, the local butcher, comes by to harvest some of the pigs. He ends up attacking Jack, revealing that he was the one who was possessed. Alice and Tom work together to banish the spirit of Mother Malkin. Alice tries to burn her to death, but Tom stops her. A weakened Mother Malkin crawls into the pig pen where she is devoured...
