Summary

Chapter Nine

Tom knows he’s the only one who can contain Mother Malkin. At midnight he checks on her cage and finds she has escaped. He arms himself with one of Gregory’s staffs, chasing after her. He knows malevolent witches aren’t able to cross running water, so she will take a certain route to get to Bony Lizzie’s cabin. Tom battles the witch and manages to get her into the running water. She tries to pull herself out by grappling with Tom, but he drives her back into the water where she eventually dies.

Chapter Ten

Tom knows that there is still a child missing, so he goes to confront Lizzie. He finds Alice instead, who tells him that Lizzie is waiting for Mother Malkin. He rescues the child, Tommy, and takes him back to Gregory’s house. Lizzie...
