Chapter Eight Summary

Chapter Eight begins with one of the social workers trying to get Jane to open up and talk about Fay. Jane doesn't like the sound of her voice. She doesn't want to talk anyway. The lady needs to leave her alone. Jane wants some answers which the woman won't give. Jane is worried about Mike and his missing any food because she can't get to him. Jane finally threatens to kill the woman so she will leave her alone.

Eve and Mark go to the Delaney street house to try to find the way to break Jane out of the house. Mark knew that they had once held a boy who was testifying in a private room in the back. Eve went to the back but couldn't see a way to climb to the second floor window. Jane opened the window...
