Prologue and Chapters 1-3 Summary

Prologue. Vincenzo Fuccini is on his way to a peace meeting with three other mob family leaders. Vincenzo has been instructed not to bring bodyguards, so he lets two bodyguards out of the car a short ways from where the meeting is to be held in an airplane hangar. When Vincenzo arrives at the meeting, he learns quickly that the others are aware of his bodyguards and have had them killed. Vincenzo is afraid these men will not take him seriously, so he steals a gun from one of their guards and shoots several of the men. Then chaos breaks out as a rival family not invited to the peace talks arrives and begins killing everyone. Vincenzo manages to survive the initial fight and he kills two surviving bodyguards, leaving himself as the sole survivor. Vincenzo leaves...
