Summary

In Chapter 25, along with being weaker, Alma felt her cat’s absence deeply. Neko had been her companion for 18 years. Lenny expressed his concern but Alma downplayed her ailments. Irina and Seth noticed that Alma had stopped receiving the weekly gardenias at the time she needed them most. Alma was weaker than ever and becoming more easily confused. Despite the fact she had spells of racing heartbeats, Alma refused to go to the cardiologist as Cathy had suggested. She was not afraid of death. She’d lost that fear when she helped Nathaniel die. The only person she really missed out of her family was Nathaniel. The time finally came that she had to close her painting studio. Kirsten was taken on as an assistant in Catherine Hope’s pain clinic.
