Chapter Six: Meghan and Ash descend a glittering staircase out of the castle and into the surrounding city. Ash warns Meghan not to make eye contact with anyone. Many Unseelie fey are dancing in celebration of the arrival of winter, but those celebrations frequently turn violent. Meghan and Ash hide when two of Rowan's Thornguards arrive. The knights announce that Winter is at war with Summer, and everyone cheers. They add that Ash is a traitor, and that he and Meghan are dangerous. The two are to be captured, but not harmed.
