DuPray, South Carolina

DuPray, South Carolina is the town where Tim winds up when he attempts to hitchhike to New York. Tim stays in this town because he sees an advertisement for a night knocker job. Because his grandfather worked as a night knocker, Tim decided to apply for the job.

Luke gets off the train in DuPray because he figures that it will be less likely that there will be people looking for him in a small town. He is not aware that the Institute even has a contract employee living in DuPray. Sigsby and her goons go to DuPray to either bring Luke back to the Institute or kill him. As a result, there is a shootout where the majority of the DuPray police force is wiped out. Because the people of DuPray fight back against Sigsby and her minions, Luke is not killed or captured.
