Summary

At Thanksgiving in Chapter 25, Raj, Ruby, Daniel, Mira, and Gertie discuss magic. Raj asks Daniel to take a walk after dinner and the two men argue about Klara, both of them blaming the other for her death.

In Chapter 26, Raj and Ruby have gone, and Daniel worries Raj will never bring Ruby to visit again. Eddie O'Donoghue calls and tells Daniel that the case against Bruna Costello has been dropped for lack of evidence. Daniel tells Eddie that today is the day Bruna predicted he would die, and Eddie tells him not to worry. Daniel thinks about Klara and Simon and decides he must do something. He goes online and looks up West Milton, Ohio, Bruna's last known whereabouts. Varya calls and Daniel tells her he is going to find Bruna and make her apologize, but Varya thinks he is joking...
