Good Versus Evil

Good versus evil is a very easily identified theme in the story. Lord Foul is cruel and is symbolic of evil despite the fact that he is never seen. Lord Foul's army is made of nasty creatures that are described as looking almost demonic. The Ravers that take over the giant brothers are snarling drooling creatures that enjoy killing and eating their kill. They seem to want to kill and enjoy the death of others. They even kill small children. The good in the story are those that serve the Land and seek to protect it. They even take an Oath of Peace that prohibits them from doing any unnecessary harm to the Land or its people. The war between the Land's people and Lord Foul is the main focus of good versus evil in the story.
