Chapter 21- 24 Summary

As chapter twenty-one begins Thomas Covenant is thinking about the words Troy said. Covenant doesn't refuse to believe in the Land for any reason other than to control the intensity and the potential suicide that the Land would impose on him. Covenant and Elena left Troy and Mhoram and were being lead by Amok to Kevin's Seventh Ward. As they begin their journey Covenant wonders why Elena has chosen him to go with her but to some extent is afraid of what her answer would be if he confronted her with this question. After a time Covenant has to ask why Elena chose him to go with her after all he has done. She tells Covenant that her mother never taught her any bitterness toward Covenant.
