Summary

In “Ainsley,” Ainsley, Tabitha, and Eleanor ride the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard to attend Billy’s memorial reception. Ainsley is angry with her mother because she destroyed her phone and made her stay in the house all weekend. Because she does not have her phone she was not able to learn if any of the other kids at her party got into trouble. Ainsley thinks it is most likely that Candace got into trouble. She and Candace had once been best friends but Ainsley had been forced to grow up faster than Candace. She got popular in middle school by stepping on people like Candace.
