Summary

Chapter 37 is titled “Emma,” and goes back one day earlier, to New Year's Day. Realizing Emma has not returned from the lodge, Emma goes to check on her. She overhears Giles arguing with Miranda. He is angry that she said she has slept with someone else in the group, even though she did not identify him. Miranda says no one will figure it out but then she taunts him, saying it might be a nice test for Giles' marriage. Miranda begins throwing up and Giles just watches. He then realizes Katie is listening.
