Summary

The book opens with the initially unnamed narrator, Sebastian, stating that the universe has a grand plan and that invisible spectrums are all around us. He says that people have the choice to either listen to the spectrums or walk away. The narration then moves to Sebastian, on top of his Geodesic dome home in Iowa, cleaning bird feces and looking at the nearby town. According to Sebastian, he and his grandmother, Nana, give public tours of the dome. The dome was thought up by Bucky R. Buckminster, a futurist thinker who may have been Nana’s lover.
