Chapters 18 and 19 Summary

Chapter 18: Cholla Burr

At first Lucky doesn't want to help Miles but her conscious as well as her dog pester her and she decides to help him. Miles is scared. He thought a coyote was sniffing him but it was Beag. He tells Lucky that he was counting on he mother burro to rescue him. Miles has a large cholla burr in his foot so Lucky has to carry him piggyback to the dugout. Lucky can't pull the burr out because the needles would stick her hand. She looks in her bags but can't find anything to use to pull the burr out with. Miles tells Lucky that she looks pretty and more grown up in her red dress. She spots Brigitte's parsley chopper that she had brought along as a keepsake. She angles the tool under the burr and flips...
