Chapter 16: Getting Ready to Run Away

Since Lucky gets home early and Brigitte is at the Captain's house, she decides to run away immediately. But first thing Lucky checks her survival kit. She is bringing many items with her including empty Altoid boxes for more specimens; pencil and notebook to describe specimens; the knot that Lincoln had given her; and, a bottle of Gatorade to name just a few. From the fridge, she takes two hard-boiled eggs, carrots and the government-issue cheese. She gets Fig Newtons and Beag's kibbles from the pantry. Ready to leave, she thought of another item she wanted to take - her mother' urn. She piles everything into her backpack and a plastic shopping bag.
