Chapters 2 and 3 Summary

Chapter 2: Brigitte

Lucky finds her dog HMS Beagle (His Majesty's Ship) on the steps to the kitchen trailer. Since Brigitte's sandals are on the steps that lead to the kitchen trailer, HMS Beagle and Lucky both know that Brigitte is mopping the floor and doesn't want them to walk on it. Later, Lucky peeks in and sees that Brigitte is on the phone. Brigitte tells lucky that she'll hang up soon - she is talking to her mother in Paris.

Lucky thinks to herself that Brigitte's mother is probably working on her plot to get Brigitte to come home to France. She wants all her daughters with her in Paris. Brigitte recently got a package from her mother which contained a yellow tube that looked like toothpaste but it actually contained a mustard that Brigitte loves. It brought tears to Brigitte's...
