Summary

In Chapter 4, monkeys scream in the forest and Glory's scales change color to show her fear. She is caught up in questions, including that the monkeys' sounds changed in recent years and the RainWings have not questioned it. Jambu offers to knock Glory and Starflight out for the flight into the village, but they both decline. RainWings carry Sunny, Clay, Tsunami, and Webs in nets. Jambu notes that Glory is “not from around here” (42). She says her egg was stolen from here and Jambu responds by offering to give Glory gliding lessons, then flies away. Glory is disappointed that Jambu seems indifferent that someone stole a RainWing egg.

Glory is amazed at the beauty of the village, high in the trees, including platforms and hammocks, but there is no way to defend it. Starflight admires the hammock designs and points out that RainWings...
