Xaviera Hollander is the main character and narrator of The Happy Hooker. She is born in Indonesia to Dutch Jewish parents and is raised in Amsterdam. Xaviera adores her father and even seems sexually preoccupied with him. She shows an interest in sexual experimentation from a young age and experiments with both men and women and even some family members. She shows a strong competitive drive and works herself to the top of any endeavor she participates in, from being a secretary in Holland to becoming a highly successful madam in New York.
