Summary

Chapter 22 moves to Svanhild's first-person narration as she sails aboard Solvi's ship. Solvi informs Svanhild of where she is staying and tells her not to talk unless she is spoken to. That night, Svanhild is worried that Solvi will come to her in the night and truly claim her as his wife. The next day, the ship makes it back to Tafjord despite the rain. While helping her down from the ship, one of the warriors informs Svanhild that Solvi wants her to make herself presentable for his father. While walking to the hall, Svanhild surveys her surroundings and notes that it does not look anything like the story Solmund told her.
