Summary

After passing out in the mall parking lot, Liborio finds himself gradually fading in and out of consciousness in an unknown location. He overhears someone saying his fever is not breaking. While he is unconscious he has flashbacks to his mother whom he never knew, but he imagines what she looked like, and dreams of her having a piece of wool for him to play with and multi-colored strings of yarn in her hair. When he finally wakes up, he realizes he is in a small bedroom he has never been in before. He gets up and notices he is wearing a nightgown. He cannot find his belt or any of his belongings, and so he leaves the room and enters a long hallway. At the end of the hallway is a set of double doors, and he enters through them into a gymnasium...
