Anidori-Kiladra

Anidori-Kiladra, or Ani for short, is the main protagonist of the novel who is betrayed by her best friend Selia on the way to marry a prince in Bayern. At the beginning of the novel, Ani is a curious girl who is raised by her animal-speaking aunt who introduces Ani to the magic of the world. However, after her aunt leaves, Ani is confined to the castle by her mother to keep her from speaking to any animals. Over time, Ani because shut off from the rest of the world, including her siblings, as she works tirelessly to become the queen her mother wants her to be. However, after it is revealed that the queen had already traded Ani away to marry a prince in Bayern, Ani realizes she always does what she is asked and leaves Kildenree without a fight.
