Summary

In Chapter 18, it took Charlie a few minutes to realize that it was significant that Huck was Zach’s accomplice, not that Ben knew she had been raped. Charlie told Huck that he was too late to save her. Huck told them he had hired Zach to kill Rusty because he wanted revenge for his sister’s death.

Huck said his parents had set up the arrangement to pay Zach for his silence the night Gamma was killed. His parents would not let him go to the police like he wanted to.
