Summary

In Chapter 1, set 28 years later in 2017, Charlie walked with regret through the halls of Pikeville Middle School. Charlie had a one-night stand with a man she intended to remain anonymous. However, she had accidentally left with his cell phone. She had come to the school to return the phone. The man introduced himself as Huck.
