Summary

In Chapter 33, Imran, Helen, and Nargis have returned to the island. According to news reports, almost 50 people have been killed by the suicide bombing. The narrative then shifts focus to Aysha and Billu in their home. Shakeel enters, praising the suicide bombers. He and Aysha begin to have a verbal argument, and Shakeel threatens to have Aysha expelled from her home. Aysha then calls Shakeel a coward and says that the United States may have killed Shakeel’s brother, but the Pakistani military-intelligence agency gave the United States permission to fly its drones in exchange for money and favors. Shakeel leaves in anger.
