Book 2, Chapter 11 Summary

Fredo and his bodyguards finally arrive at the Castle in the Sand. Since initiations always come as a surprise, the bodyguard, Figaro, will never learn that Fredo made him miss his own initiation. In his suite, Fredo sees that the blinds are closed and the television is off, not like he left them. He reaches for his gun, only to remember that he left it in the motel. Luckily, the intruder is a naked, platinum blond French girl, sent by Johnny Fontane. Fredo, still hoping to make it to the tail end of the initiation, doesn't have time to play. Feeling rejected, the girl, Rita, cries and tells him she's not a hooker, that Johnny talked her into doing this as a lark. Fredo feels bad for her, slips her double the cash that Johnny gave her, and says she can't be a hooker if...
