Summary

Chapter 13 opens on Tony thinking on needing to get a job, now that he is out of the rehabilitation clinic, and frustrating himself over Ryan’s getting “himself caught with enough cocaine on him to be done for possession with intent. Again,” (162). In this stress, Tony aches for a drink.

Tony then answers the door to Georgie, who asks if Tony knows Robbie O’Donovan. Tony inwardly rages at his mistake of letting Maureen know Robbie’s name. Tony’s anger only intensifies when he learns that Tara Duane told Georgie that Tony knew Robbie. Georgie then realizes that Tony is Ryan’s dad, so Tony brings Ryan down from his room to get Georgie to leave. Tony centers his rage around Tara Duane’s complicity in bringing Georgie to him, asking after Robbie O’Donovan, but finds she is not home...
