Summary

Chapter 14, “The Office Chorus” (268) takes place in 2029. Simone is at a cocktail party with her colleagues, including her assistant, Keisha. She tells them all about being Jonathan Alkaitis' receptionist at the time of his arrest. Meanwhile, Harvey, Joelle, and Oskar have all served their prison sentences and been released. Oskar ends up back in prison a second time on a drug-related charge. Enrico is still in Mexico, where he married and had children, but he lives on edge, constantly waiting for the authorities to show up and arrest him.
