Summary

Chapter 21

Back on the skateboards, Ty suddenly turns around a corner, and Katie tries to follow. Her board goes out of control and she falls. Ty runs over to help her. She's okay, but her palms are scraped. He tells her that she did well for her first time. She thanks him but is tired of being on the street and feels really exposed. He suggests going to a little coffee shop that is within walking distance.

At the coffee shop, Katie meets Audrey, a friend of Ty's. Ty introduces Katie as Nate. Katie thinks Audrey doesn’t believe she’s a boy. Audrey seems to flirt with Ty, and Katie asks for room in her coffee for cream. They sit down, Audrey leaves, and Ty asks Katie where she wants to go, and what her next move might be.
