Greg Heffley

Greg Heffley is the central character/protagonist in the story. Greg’s main character trait is his constant feelings of fear and anxiety, which is implied in the title of the series that refers to Greg as a “Wimpy Kid”. Greg’s fears and anxiety hold him back from really enjoying his life because he spends so much time worrying about all the things that could go wrong and expecting the worst to happen that he risks missing out on things that he would really enjoy.

Unlike the rest of his family, Greg expects the vacation will be terrible but later unexpectedly discovers that he is enjoying himself in situations that he thought he would hate: he enjoys the outdoor shower at the resort after first being uncertain; he has a great time snorkeling in the ocean after his mom refuses to let his fears about sharks...
