Summary

After a month in Paris, Monty is bored while the other three are enjoying the visit. One night, he catches Felicity sneaking out and promises not to tell on her. He convinces Mr. Lockwood that he and Percy are going to a lecture. Instead, they go to a boxing match and a music hall. After a lot of drinking and time in a private box, Monty kisses Percy, and the latter kisses back. However, Percy breaks it and thinks that Monty is only kissing him as a joke. The two argue, as Monty is unable to tell Percy how he really feels, and they leave.

The two avoid each other as they prepare to meet with Lord Ambassador Worthington at a summer ball. Lockwood demands that Monty, Percy, and Felicity all speak formally to each other and believes that Monty is taking...
