Pat Williams's father took him to see his first professional baseball game when he was seven, and from that moment on, Pat wanted to be a baseball player. Pat played all through school and into college, then was drafted by the Phillies as a catcher where he played for two years. After two years, the Phillies gave Pat a job as general manager of the minor league club in Spartanburg, South Carolina. This led to Pat having a thirty-six year career as an executive with the NBA.
