"The best predators don't lie on the jungle floor with their teeth bared and claws out. Their prey is going to avoid them. They approach the prey slowly and harmlessly, win its trust, and then attack." (pg. 53) Strauss receives this advice from Sin, who throws women against the wall by their necks in front of Strauss and then does not touch the women again until after dinner is over. During dessert, Sin stares at his prey and tells her, "'You don't even want to know the things I'm thinking of doing to you right now."' (pg. 53) Sin's treatment of women could certainly be acceptable between two consenting adults, and yet the fact that he does this in front of Strauss is disturbing. The FBI's profilers know that.....
