"Step 2: Approach and Open" Summary and Analysis

Strauss finds an online post indicating that Mystery will be holding PUA workshops in several major cities, priced at $500. One is scheduled for Los Angeles. Feeling ashamed of his lack of prowess, Strauss sends in the $500 to Mystery. He uses his first name only, determined to keep his real life and successful writing career separate from his new nocturnal activities. A week later, he meets Mystery for the workshop in the lobby of a hotel in Hollywood. Mystery is not attractive, but he exudes charisma. His wingman, Sin, asks Strauss what his top score is, or how many women Strauss has engaged in sex. Strauss admits to six. Mystery has been with hundreds of women; he shows Strauss photos of some of the more attractive women.....
