Summary

In Chapter 35, Louise and Eik return to work the next day. Looking through the archives, they discover that Jørgen is Bodil’s brother. Unable to contain their passion, the detectives make love again in a side-room. Later, Eik finds an archived file that describes Jørgen as having “sexual abnormalities” from 1958-1962. Louise goes to interview a woman, Edith Rosen, who had been the Parkovs’ neighbor at that time. Edith is immediately shaken while remembering her youth: Jørgen had suffered brain injuries when he was hit by a car when walking home from school with Bodil. After that incident, Jørgen would be extremely sexually aggressive, assaulting both Bodil and Edith regularly, until the Parkovs finally moved.
