Chapter 19 - 36 Summary

In Chapter 19, Cassandra is horrified by the dead end. She begins sobbing uncontrollably for everything that has happened, and Travis holds her and comforts her. They decide to make camp for the night. Beth has been slowing down. Seeing Travis so close to Cass makes Mary want to hurt Travis, and she begins talking about Beth. Beth wakes up, having fallen asleep, and the shawl slips from her shoulder, exposing the hideous bite. Travis is in shock. Mary runs off on her own. She comes to a fork in the path, and begins shouting for Gabrielle. Gabrielle arrives seconds later. Mary apologizes for what has happened to her.
