Summary

In Chapter 1, Cassie awakened with a hangover in a Dubai hotel. She had planned to invite the man whom she had met on the plane, Alexander Sokolov, back to her room. Instead, he had given her his room key. At first,she was ashamed of herself. Then, she reminded herself how much fun she assumed they had.

Alex had told her he worked in hedge funds for Russian oligarchs. He had grown up in Virginia. She was the flight attendant assigned to the portion of the plane where he was sitting. By the time the flight was over, they had made plans to have dinner together. She thought about how much she had drunk the night before and how bad her head hurt.
