Chapters 24-27 Summary

Chapter 24

Egwene comes early to a visit with Elayne in Tel'Aran'Rhoid, and catches a glimpse of Elayne talking with a golden-haired woman.

Chapter 25

Egwene asks Elayne about the identity of the golden-haired woman, suspecting it is Birgitte. Elayne tells Egwene that she is forbidden to divulge the woman's identity because of a solemn promise. After Elayne departs, Egwene is nearly pulled into a fantasy about Gawyn. She flees, still in Tel'Aran'Rhoid to Emond's Field. The fantasy follows her and she is nearly pulled in but manages to break free and step out of Tel'Aran'Rhoid. Moghedien appears nearby. She is surprised that the girl escaped the trap and is impressed with Egwene's powers. Moghedien was spying on both Elayne and Egwene, hoping that one of them would lead her to Nynaeve.
