Chapters 37-40 (pages 341-372) Summary

Myron meets Bonnie and Hester at Hester's office and begins to fill them in on what he knows. He has figured out the Esperanza has kept them in the dark so that Myron would be safe. Back when Clu had been signed to his first professional team, he, Billy Lee, and Bonnie had gone drinking to celebrate. Clu decided to drive home. There was an accident and Bonnie was knocked out from the tree slamming into a tree. Clu and Billy Lee had called Myron to help them. Myron, realizing that Clu could loose his contract, bribe two officers, Sheriff Lemmon and Kolber to keep quiet about the incident.

At the time, Myron was surprised that Billy Lee had been acting like the third wheel to Bonnie and Clu. Wouldn't Billy Lee have brought his own date...
